Our Board of directors
Amanda St. Martin
My daughter was going through a tough time, and I was looking for resources to help her cope. We attended a workshop and we’ve been hooked ever since.
My daughter and I attended a few events and Mother-Daughter Retreats and benefited from the discussions. I decided to get involved to have an impact on more girls than just my daughter.
Shawntan and I have been friends for years, and we shared some of the same struggles with our daughters. II love the message that Girls Are Powerful instills in young ladies. It is our hope that our programs can one day strengthen young ladies nationwide.
I have three young girls and two boys, and I think it is so important for all girls to empower themselves.
Empowering and increasing the self-worth and self-esteem of girls, especially in this age group, is instrumental; not only does it positively affect the girls, it enriches all of our futures.
I work with homeless teens, and just seeing what these girls go through, having somebody to be there to help them believe in themselves is really important.
